On a day-to-day basis, consumers are using the payment infrastructure by purchasing goods in shops and performing online payments or even by withdrawing money from ATMs. New technologies such as chip cards (EMV technology), contactless cards and Mobile Payments (NFC) are coming up rapidly. We test Point-of-Sale systems, cards, mobile handsets, banking systems, processing networks and many more systems in the world of payments, transit and mobile.

UL Transaction Security is hiring a Lead Test Analyst for our “Service Line Test Centers” in UL Transaction Security in Brazil, São Paulo.
The Lead Test Analyst guides the customer and performs the test activities in order to achieve a smoothly running certification process. Your main focus is defining tests projects and performing test activities, such as performing tests by using test tools, analyzing and validating test results and reporting to the client. Occasionally, you can participate in the development of test procedure documents, test specifications and test tools. The Lead Test Analyst provides support to less experienced Test Analysts and reports to the responsible Certification Manager. The work in São Paulo focuses on evaluating the quality of Point-of-Sale systems, PINpads, Electronic Cash Registers and ensuring the relevant regional and global card products are being accepted properly.
The Lead Test Analyst has the following tasks and responsibilities
Test activities - use and configure test tools in the appropriate way, analyze and validate test results, report on failures using database and templates
Technology - being able to interpret and understand the technical specifications of the products being tested.
Project Management - define a test project together with a client (configuration; planning; activities) and manage the project according to the project plan.
Communicate results to clients and solve issues with integrity. Apply SLA (Service Level Agreements/ timestamps) to your projects and report frequently on the progress of the work
Guiding test analysts with less experience and check the quality of their work
Ensure high quality and proper management of client deliverables, client input documents and test results
Report in time, correctly and clearly to clients using UL Transaction Security templates
Desired Skills and Experience
Skilled in using testing tools or experience with automation or development
You finished a relevant study which proves your analytical skills and technical approach, such as (but not limited to) Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, (Applied) Physics, Artificial Intelligence, (Applied) Mathematics or Mechanical Engineering.
- Bachelor diploma is a minimal requirement
- Equivalent work experience – with e.g., RF (Radio Frequency) engineering, Financial transaction industry, Software development and/or testing - will be considered
Feel for responsibility, accuracy and attentive to detail.
Understands the importance of addressing customer needs
Ability to work independently to a deadline.
Being capable to run your work fast and efficient
Good spoken and written language skills in both Portuguese and English
You are a flexible team player with good professional attitude towards customers and colleagues and welcoming towards innovations
Desired experience (any of them):
- Appropriate level of knowledge of financial POS/terminal and host testing technology and operation
- Appropriate level of knowledge of financial industries standards, such as EMV, ISO 7816, ISO 8583, etc.
- Contactless Smart Card and EMV Knowledge and experience. Good understanding of RF measurement techniques applicable to ISO/IEC 14443 based contactless technology. Experience working in hardware testing environment.
